A Honey Bee sits on the bright yellow-orange peony blossom and sucks delicious nectar with its long snout called proboscis. Its distinguished name is Apis mellifera.

There are scenes that want to be shot. Without thinking I have to grab my camera and capture that image. But more often I have to take time and communicate with the object that draws my attention. To get in touch with it, get a feeling for it, might take one or more hours or days, even weeks waiting for weather and light just to be right. And the outcome might be completely different from my original vision. I am moved by aesthetics, the love for the sometimes hidden beauty in our world. May it be in the structure on a wall, the geometry of a building, a cute animal, a blossom in vibrant colours, a landscape in awesome light, a dramatic stormy cloudscape, or even in the decay of a faded flower – this inherent beauty can be found...
